hi, if you want clearest photos, you should have a posometer that must measure the incoming light to the lens.

Hi, Clydet...you need to describe the type of SLR camera you have: does your camera have a large liquid crystal view screen?
Can you view with this screen before your take an image?
Can your microscope be positioned with the eyepiece nearly straight vertical (straight pointing up?
What is the brand and model of your SLR camera?
Have you visited the many excellent on-line microscope/camera imageing tutorials?

Keep at it...I hope your useing a digital camera with memory-stick...rather than the old way I grew up with of 'film'?!!
While you experiment with imageing through the microscope..put your images in this forums galleries..it's great microscopy/fun to get the images to forum!
