Default What's a good micrscope?

I want to get back into the hobby, and am shopping for a good microscope. I had a Lomo SF-100 that I sold last year, and I was never happy with it's poor resolution. Does anyone know much about the new Swift SW M2 micro/macro dual purpose scope? I have also considered the Unitron zoom stereo scope, which is fairly expensive. But no use in getting junk for a low price. Darklyn

Good morning,

If you are in the US, I have several good reconditioned microscopes that may be of interest. One is a B & L Phase/Darkfield (made in Japan) and the other is a B & L Stereozoom 4 (made in USA). Both of these are fully serviced and guaranteed.

Regards,

I think that you are referring to the Swift M3. It is not going to be available until the middle of this year sometime. From the hands on experience that I have had with it, it looks good. If you are looking for a multi purpose microscope, you can't go wrong with this one. It is solidly built (no plastic gears). I'll be interested to see more of this scope when it becomes available. If you want to take a look at it, here it is on our website.
