Default Celestron Digital LCD 44340 ?

Hi,
Could you please help me? I want to buy a microscope to be used at home with the kids (6 & 8). We thought about celestron digital LCD 44340, that has a digital camera and a screen. The digital camera seems a good idea as both can look together.

But my sister (a professional biologist) said that perhaps this microscope won't be good enough to be usable and they may be irreversibly disappointed about the subject.

Do you know this celestron microscope ? What model would you recommend?

I have some experience in wildlife photography, macro and astrophotography, (see my gallery at frikosal's Photo Galleries at pbase.com)
so I'm also interested in this device, I know it is priced as an expensive toy but I don't want to have an unusable toy..

Thanks !

Our LCD Digital Microscope replaces traditional eyepieces with an LCD Screen for easy and comfortable viewing for yourself and to share with others.

Have a peek at my homemade scope camera using a web cam. The vendors would have us believe their price ($99++) is comparable to the quality (doubtful). With the web cam you can take the pictures while viewing and WYSIWYG. You can find any price scope online. My interpretation is that $150-$300 are about the same quality and above $400 you are buying a fine scope (if you deal with a reliable online firm). Those lower priced scopes are about equal to the student scopes the universities have. When you get a $3000+ scope you will likely be satisfied but unless you have had lots of experience its features will go unused. The universities 5 (or was it 6) axes petrographic microscope goes for $6000+ and was great for my work but don't need it now.
