Hi,
I have an old binocular Microscope, and I am thinking about buying a Camera for it. I think they are usually USB, so they work with a computer. I have been looking a set of Tucsen Cameras on ebay. they range from 1.3 mp to 10mp and cost up to £200 including Postage from America. This is the top amount I might pay. Is there anybody who is using these Cameras, if so how do they rate? Or are there any suggestions? Cheers, Terry. |

I was wondering the same thing.
I found this site and wrote them.New 1.3M USB Microscope Live Video Photo Digital Camera items in Precision World store on eBay! I sent them my microscope model and they said Hello, Any of our cameras will fit your microscope. You can search here; New 1.3M USB Microscope Live Video Photo Digital Camera items in Precision World store on eBay! our MU series microscope is our newest line of cameras and will work with your microscope. All of our cameras adapt to 23mm, 30mm, and 30.5mm ports. I'm not currently using one but plan to get one just not sure which one and when. I hope someone that is having good success with one of these can make some recommendations. Best of luck, Max Cady

Hi Max,
I tried to look at your Camera site, but couldn't actually see the specifications (Much of it is goes over my head anyway) I have attached a couple of Ebay links for the ones I was looking at, where the specifications are listed. You suggested 1.3 Mp, where I would like to buy as high as I can afford, which is 'say' £200. Also the postage from USA is a bit pricy. It did cross my mind that if there were a number of others, in the Uk that are also interested, perhaps we could get some sent cheaper in one box, and split them. Otherwise, let's hope for others who have them already to reply first. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace Cheers, Terry. |

I owned both their 10mp model and then the 5mp USB camera, look for something else. The software is written in chinese and doesn't work for squat on American PC's, and I don't mean the manual. That was written by a chicken.

Thanks Terry.
![]() I was able to get a few good videos and still from the 10mp, but it certainly was not worth the $500+ I paid for it. The best I have seen so far are CCD Box type cameras, but they take a special video card on the PC and a lot of weird connection cables and power supplies. And not cheap for a good one. There are some nice USB cameras built and sold in the EU, but I never bookmarked their sites. Look around, some are very reasonable. Don't buy the first thing you see. |

Hi Guys
Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons how about using an old VHS video camera and a USB video capture module for a really cheap solution. I am trying to fit an old Sanyo (VDP6 I Think) camera to my scope at present and the picture I get is fantastic to me although I don't have the high tech gear you experts have. Nobody wants the cameras and I bought an EasyCap USB capture module that hasn't arrived yet for £5. Its all cheap as chips. People go on about megapixels but what's the point when it is viewed on a TV screen of 1028x800=81600 and even an HD isn't that great.

MitchM,
The Tucsen 10Mp is now 300 dollars, plus postage about 50Dollars. Is it worth it? I will keep looking. Raptor, Good idea putting a chap Camera on the Microscope. This way you can see if it is worth uprading in the future. I am not an expert, but I do have loads of lenses from Aircraft Cameras, and technical equipment, that I can try to make into USB Telescopes???? and experiment with. This is why I'm gong for the best I can afford, as they will all need adapting for the Camera. Also I wondered if I could make a Film negative copier/digitiser. Cheers, Terry. |
