Microscope Forums .com

Hi all! I'm a newbie as of today (12/07/09). I just won the bid on e-bay for a Bausch & Lomb monocular microscope. Must be from the late 50's or so.

I guess from childhood I've been a collector. First it was marbles; then stamps; LP's; cameras; Fountain pens; CD's; DE razors; watches; old movies; binoculars; . . . and hopefully now, NOT microscopes! I think one of decent quality that works is all I will need. Then again, I've been heard to say that before!

If I come close to using the full potential of the B&L on its way to me now . . . that would be good. Too often it is the "thrill of the hunt" and the exciting "moment of discovery" that drives me to collect more and more . . . always more than I really "need" in any category!

I hope to learn from others here and look forward to some interesting reads, chats, & postings.
