Hello,
I've come into possession of an older Carl Zeiss microscope, and I'm having trouble identifying what exactly it is (model, purpose, etc.) and how much it might be worth. I contacted Carl Zeiss customer support, but they haven't turned up anything so far. Here's a pic: ![]() Any help you could provide would be extremely helpful. Thanks! |

HI,
You have a Zeiss Light Thickness Measuring Microscope. If it is in working condition you will see a thin green line in the field. The scope is used to measure the thickness of things like printed circuits and were widely used in industrial quality control. These scopes were made in the 1970s and there are no parts available and certainly no support from Zeiss. The scope in not worth much as far as a 'conventional' microscope but was certainly tops in the field during its era. They are a little fussy to get everything working properly. What are you going to do with it ? g2b2
