Default Hello from VA

Hi all! I'm new to the site and to microscopy. I just bought an AmScope M600A microscope. Monocular Biological Microscope 40X-1600X

It's mainly for my kids (13,11, and 8) but I'm sure I'll have some interesting uses for it as well.

My first question to all you gurus out there is: Does anyone know of a way to connect my Olympus SP-590UZ digital camera to the eye piece? It is kind of a new camera and doesn't have a standard (SLR) type removable lens. It does have an adapter for a 1.7x add-on lens (both of which I have). Here's some related links if you are so inclined to look into this:

Camera: SP-590UZ Specs

Lens Adapter: https://emporium.olympus.com/innards...sku=202317-410

1.7x Lens: https://emporium.olympus.com/innards...sku=200862-410

Well, I look forward to sharing our awesome discoveries with the group, glad I found y'all.

Hi and welcome. I dont have much useful to add, except to say that remarkably good pics can be had by simply holding a camera to the eyepiece and aiming using the digital display live feed window. Its probably not too difficult to rig a sturdy support for your camera using PVC plumbing supplies, tape and rubber bands. I've connected a camera to my telescope using such a home made system.

That's a really good idea, and it costs nothing to try. Thanks for the tip. I'll do some experimentation and hoipfully post some pics early next week. The microscope is arriving Monday (according to UPS.com).
