A non-profit organization has designed this microscope (150 rupees/ $4), made of bamboo. Letting schoolkids in New Delhi (India) enjoy science in a more practical way, even if they can't afford expensive equipment for them.

I really don't know, If we had more detailed pictures we could even build some ourselves. They look nice :-)

That is a good idea. I'll look for some bamboo...it's not to plentiful around here. g2b2

This is just another genius work, implying common sense and resourcefulness. I hope we can also make a microscope made of bamboo here in the Philippines. Bamboos, like in India, are also abundant here in the Philippines and I think local intellectuals and scientists alike should consider this ideas since Filipinos need alternative materials for making one since we badly need it in our studies.
