Question What microscope is the best choice?

What microscope is the best choice?

I think to buy a microscope (used in top condition). The choice is between Zeiss STEMI-2000 and Leica MZ6.

Which of the two microscopes would you chose and why?

Where can I buy them safely outside of eBay? (Resident in Norway)

Hi Tesla and welcome to the forum.

This choice is really a matter of personal preference, once you know what type of microscope you need and have made a shortlist of similar microscopes then you have to decide which one you like best, which do YOU prefer? that is all that is important.
The two you have shortlisted are both excellent scopes from well known and respected manufacturers, so...which do YOU like best? buy that one.

As an example..My cousin a few years ago was buying a motorcycle, and he test rode the two he shortlisted, the first was a supersport 600 and really put a smile on his face, the second was a 750 sports tourer, a little slower, as he was 60 years old he thought he might be better with the second choice, and a person in the shop said that was the one he would buy, my cousin influenced by this other persons choice, did indeed buy the second one...and was never satisfied with it, because he really wanted the quicker sports bike...so, go by your own preference, then you will be happy with your choice.

Thank you for your help Ken

I have so far used only a magnifying glass on the head, I gets headaches from it in length. That is why the microscope is a better solution. From experience I know it is expensive in the long run to buy poor quality first. Here in Norway we have no microscope dealer where I can test the Zeiss and Leica to find out what I like best. So I wrote in the forum here for advice and assistance regarding microscopy choice.

Sincerely Tesla

Don't overlook wonderful used microscopes like the Olympus SZX9 and Nikon SMZ1500.
If you're planning to do photography, a CMO scope might be slightly better (I think).

Thanks for the advice, now is it so that I bought used microscope in top condition as I am very pleased with the German Möller-Wedel. Microscopes have fixed lenses instead of the zoom, fantastic quality.

Default Looking at Trinocular Zoom Stereo Microscope for Dissection

I want to buy a zoom stereo microscope. I have been looking for a while. I need up to 40x magnification and want to put a camera on it. The quality on this one at least from looks seems good. I want to dissect bees with it and look at small objects. I'm curious what some of you might think. If you have any suggestions on similar ones in similar price range please let me know. Thanks Max
