Default What microscope is this?

Hello,

I love microscopes. I purchased this one a long time ago, and I'd like to know the model number, possibly, and anything about it.

It says:

Olympus Tokyo
Japan

233720

Also, any ideas on how to keep the focus tray from sliding down?

Thank you!

dude, i tried searching for old microscopes by Olympus, they only put model numbers in it without pictures. I would guess the numbers you provided is the model number but it's not on their list.

Thank you very much for trying. It's really odd, when I worked for a test equipment seller, I saw a LOT of these microscopes. I would have thought they'd be pretty popular.

It looks like an Olympus Neopak Incident Light Microscope, Type N. Can't be sure from the photograph, but the lamp house seems to be missing. It probably says "Neo" on the objectives, which have 25mm thread, not the standard RMS thread.

You can find an instruction manual (dated September 1974) here:

Thank you very much for your reply. I think you are right, and it does say neo on it. I very much appreciate the manual as well. Do you have any idea where I can get a trinocular head? Again, thank you.

Probably the only place to find a trinocular head for a Neopak microscope would be eBay.

It could take a long time to find one, and it would be difficult to be sure that any head that you found was the right model.

An Olympus dealer or service person with a good memory might be able to help.
