Default Unexpected Microscopic Image

I received a microscope set as a child in late 1950s. That Christmas morning the entire family became fascinated looking at common household materials. Two things suggested by the kit were sugar and table salt. They looked similar except sugar was shiny and salt was dull. Suddenly one certain salt crystal (they were all brownish cubes) came into view. But strangely, within the surface was the perfect image of a woman; blond hair, red robe. It was as detailed and vivid as pictures I've seen of stained glass windows in European cathedrals. We could see curls in her hair, folds in her robe, her toes poking out under the front edge of the robe. Behind her shoulders there appeared to be white wings with feathered texture. She was holding an open book waist high - apparently a Bible, as the gilded edges of the pages and a black cover were visible. This was a "real" image, not merely a suggestion such as seeing shapes up in the clouds. We called her an "angel", but thinking back perhaps her robe should have been white to complete the effect. All the family members saw it several times. Then my little sister bumped the kitchen table, jarring the salt on the slide and the image was gone. I used that microscope for years throughout grammar school looking hundreds and hundreds more times at salt and sugar but never again saw the slightest hint of anything except the now familiar brownish cubes. The light source was not the usual mirror under the stage, as my father and our neighbor had prepared a wooden base fixed with a flashlight bulb and batteries in anticipation of Christmas.
I have sent this story to a few websites featuring microscopic photos asking if anyone has ever reported (admitted) seeing recognizable images where there shouldn't be any. No one has ever responded. I guess its like seeing a UFO, no one wants to admit it. I realize the chances of this being anything other than a fluke kaleidoscopic refraction of the light are billions to one, but we did see it. I so wish we'd had the capability to take a picture but the times (and resources) didn't allow it.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has been surprised to see any unexpected microscopic image - of anything! Or if anyone has further comment or questions.. Thanks!
