My hobby is hunting, cutting, and studying meteorites, and it has grown to where I need 2 scopes: 1 for whole specimens and slices, and 1 for thin sections. With a limited budget, I have started my search for them but find the myriad models too confusing to make an informed decision.
Please, if you have had experience with meteorite/petrographic study and micrography and have used or know of bi- or trinocular scopes that you would recommend, could you give me a name & model of one/some?
I would be happy to have a professional clean, adjust, and restore an older quality scope if one is available anywhere at a fair price.
I am so pleased to find there is a forum where microscopists share information with their peers and the newbies (nee, me

) who are just beginning to "see" what others have known for so long. Thank you for any suggestions you may have about my microscope needs.
