I managed the adjustment without losing anything. ;~) I may glue a pad of plastic under the stage to provide a spot for the stop pin to bump against. Re 1mm, is it usual practice to place immersion oil between the condenser lens and the slide? I'd thought until recently that the oil went only between the objective and the coverslip.
